Featured Story: What Summer treats should I NOT give my dog?

You have learned from our Video and Treat Tasting articles, what treats are fun to give your dog this Summer!
What about treats that are NOT good for your dog?

Grapes – While there are a lot of summer fruits that are OK, grapes and of course raisins can cause kidney failure.
Avocado – Can cause diarrhea, vomiting and heart congestion.
Dairy – It might be tempting to share your ice cream cone, but, most dogs are lactose intolerant.
Corn on the Cobb – Dogs can digest corn, however, too much of it can cause a blockage.
Beer – The carbonation can cause bloat and hops can be very toxic.
Fatty Foods – Don’t share those Burgers & Hot Dogs. High fats can lead to pancreatitis and a trip to the ER.

Here is another list from the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center, and, if you suspect your pet has eaten any of the following foods, please note the amount ingested and contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435.
