Treat Tasting: Bark Beer

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, what’s better than festive green beer? Well, why not some green beer that your four-legged friends can enjoy too! This simple recipe comes from Kirby the Dorkie, and is an easy alternative to the store-bought doggy beverage. Bottoms up!

Tools needed:

  • a one-pint mason jar
  • strainer

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp. frozen spinach, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Pour stock into jar
  2. Chop the spinach – the finer the chopping, the greener the beer
  3. Add spinach to jar and refrigerate for 24 hours; shake occasionally
  4. Strain spinach, pour into drinking bottle

You can also use bone broth instead of chicken stock for the pups who prefer darker ales! It keeps for a week in the fridge, or three months in the freezer. Add some to kibble for an extra tasty meal, or fill an ice cube tray during the summer for delicious treats to cool off with!
