It’s hard to think of a life without our beloved pets and the voids they help fill in our hearts every day. But, have you ever thought about the happiness your four-legged family member could bring to those in need? The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is hosting a therapy dog open house that will let you know if your pet has what it takes to make a real difference in someone else’s life.
At this event you’ll meet therapy dog teams and hear their rewarding stories. Leaders in the therapy dog community such as Jane Kopelman and Audrey Hendler will speak about the opportunities you and your dog can possibly pursue in this industry. From serving less-privileged city school kids to nursing homes and hospitals, therapy dogs are showing up in more areas where a dog’s unconditional love is greatly appreciated.
