Bark Baby Bark is committed to helping many animal charities and shelters in the NYC area. Each holiday season we select one charity to help with donation efforts and build awareness. One of the most successful not-for-profit shelters in NYC is Animal Haven, located in SoHo. We’re reaching out to our Bark Baby Bark community for donations. They gladly accept donations of sheets, blankets, bowls, and food. They can’t accept open bags of foods, pillows, pet strollers, or large comforters. We would be happy to collect donations from you. Please email email@example.com if you would like to contribute.
When we realize how much we receive from the pets we take into our homes and families, we’re compelled to give back to that part of the community that volunteers their days, their effort, and their finances to keep New York City dogs and cats from certain neglect and even death.
Animal Haven finds homes for abandoned cats and dogs, provides behavior intervention to improve chances of adoption, and has some great outreach programs for our community’s children and adults. One of Animal Haven’s community outreach programs is “Caring Kids: Special Needs Animals and Senior Companions Youth.” This is a multiple day program where children get a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter, meet some of the residents, and learn about the issues caring for special needs and senior animals. These animals face challenges getting adopted and are often the last to get rescued. On the last day the youth make gifts for the special needs animals and the senior dogs and cats residing at Animal Haven. Animal Haven is located on 251 Centre Street and they’re open Monday through Friday from Noon to 7:00pm and 11am to 6pm on weekends.
